We welcome editors, reviewers, and publication staff to participate in the launch of the 2040 Review. This will be the first publication of its kind, a literary review publication dedicated to diverse authorship. The 2040 Review staff will assist in our preparations for the official print publication launch for the spring of 2018.
Preference will be given to applicants of color, however, we are open to all applicants. All are welcome to apply with the knowledge that positions are unpaid as at this time all resources are funneled into the launch of our first print issue.
Potential staff must:
- Have a commitment to the cultivation of diversity in the world.
- Have excellent written, organizational, and oral communication skills.
- Have a passion for at least one of the following: writing/publishing/editorial projects.
- Be able to commit 4-8 hours a week (flexible).
- Have access to a computer to work remotely and attend monthly scheduled video conference meetings.
- Be highly motivated and detailed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
2040 Review will sponsor any college credit internship for at least one semester.
All interns will receive a free subscription to the 2040 Review.
Current recruitment for the following:
The Poetry Editor will be responsible for editing review submissions. This editor will edit review content and communicate with reviewers regarding incoming review submissions. We prefer someone who has a strong familiarity with this genre, whether it be one who writes in this area or has other expertise in the field of poetry.
Publication staff will work along side publication directors on a variety of duties related to the launch of the first edition of 2040 Review. Editorial staff will assist with research, administrative projects, and establishing contact with the larger publishing industry, including libraries, bookstores, independent presses, and authors. Also, editorial staff will represent and be able to articulate the mission of 2040 Review to the greater literary community.
We are seeking someone who is a wiz with social media. This position will assist in establishing a social media presence for the 2040 Review. Must have familiarity with social media outlets and maintain/update social media sites. Also assist with event work, which may include staffing vendor tables at events. Photography and videography skills a plus!
